does anyone know what software someone would (hypothetically) use to make a website button...?

not 100% sure what u mean but anything u can make graphics on should work(photoshop, procreate, paint even). if u want it to be a still image or a gif also changes that. i know of a couple button makers like: https://hekate2.github.io/buttonmaker/ and https://sadgrl.online/projects/88x31-button-maker
