plus, with the fact there are hundreds of layouts online for free (a lot of them dont even require credit), i see no point in this.

just disheartening to see so much code stealing happening on here lately. i do believe it is largely bots, but i know for a fact that it's not purely a bot issue. i would hope that on a site like neocities people would have some pride in being creative and having some individuality. what is the point in joining a platform like this if you do not wish to put any effort into building your own website?

ya... ive started caring a little less about people stealing my code/entire pages because theyre really just hurting themselves by being so dishonest & deceitful, like if ur stealing on a platform where the point is that u can be as creative as u want without any expectations to be held to, then like.. what kind of person even are u. its so mean and disrespectful too. no ones out there judging handmade websites!!

I mean...we're all judging, but the scale is from "You centered the plain text with css! Awesome!!!" to "woah, holy shit, how did you do this". Everyone's pretty positive!

One of my moots sites had their code stolen and I didnt know because I discovered the person who had copied off of them before finding their site, it made me pretty upset bc I thought it was original to them, not just a blatant copycat

Oh have people been doing that more lately? That's really sad. Personally, my favourite websites are the ones that are made by people who are very passionate, even if they're not very experienced or skilled, it's beautiful to see the websites that just have personal soul, it's art. I consider my website to be like this too, i know it's not super "high quality", but it's my little baby lol.

^ i would've said the exact same thing. stealing somebody's code for a site is idiotic and redundant, not to mention unnecessary when there's a fucking leviathan amount of templates and resources made specifically for coding beginners
