i'd like to make some custom art for the webrings im in (like, custom image buttons). HOWEVER: to do this in a nice, customisable way, id have to manually link the person who's behind/ahead of me & the webring. do yall think this is a faux pas or is this ok?
i also have to manually link pages in my webrings since some webring scripts are hosted on neocities and it's blocked in my country... so i'd say it's okay lol

doing it manually would also solve the issue i have with a certain webring taking a VERY long time to connect to on my aussie internet
looking at some of the code for these webrings - some of them should still work w/o manual linking
